The life of Lou Klimchock
The second project of my 2023 fall apollo project is about my great uncle, Lou Klimchock. He is still living to this date and played baseball for multiple different teams over the course of 12 years. He played in the mid 50s to the mid 60s. Overall my project was based on perspective and all of my work being in first person to describe a certain perspective, his perspective.
ART: for art I decided to do a painting that based only on a small amount of colors. Shades of blue, purple, white and grey are all in the piece. The piece is supposed to represent the city that he grew up in. He grew up in Latrobe, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Free verse poem:
I grew up in a small town called Latrobe
A small place that doesn’t have much life or purpose The place worked for awhile
At least until I turned 18
After my time in Latrobe
I decided to move away
The places I could see and the things I could become Were all my decisions
Life beyond my family was such a relief
They would always fight with such aggression
I love being away from all the depression
Sonnet(Shakespearian):
The long hours of practice can be hard The game is fun with a challenging task
Baseball demands that you go the long yard The game requests a very special ask The ask is put your life into the game
My kind of game has always been my team Nothing better than putting up your name
I’d like to be together, it’s my dream
The crack of the bat, music to my ears Squeezing the glove is engrained in my brain The crowd goes wild with their amazing cheers This sport and these fans help block out the pain
The bonds we have made, the bonds we will bend
It is sorry to say, this is the end

For english I decided to do poems in his perspective growing up and going throughout life and how it was and what was inspirational for him to continue pushing.
